Got some back today @ 172.
Oddly enough was going to set limit higher @ 175 . but they would not allow and had to set at bottom of 172 to 178 spread.
Nice of them easily covered costs of all my trades today :-)

Thanks for the views.

In terms of digital resources, BMY is developing specialist
content aimed at academic/educational markets, on what appears a subscription
model.

I understand the rational, diversifying the revenue base. It's in a very early stage,
however notice revenue growing by over 50% last year.

Read an article in the trade press recently on their Indian division, which started with
just 4 people in 2012. Now employing over 40 and is moving in to profit.
Bloomsbury intend to start a Chinese imprint early 2018.

Would accept macro has been supportive, however this applies to any business.
With no borrowings and high net cash, perhaps good positioning if markets become
more challenging. Net cash balances over £15 million at their year end, from memory.

As always all just IMV only, please DYOR.

I have been a shareholder here for over seven years;it has performed modestly, based on share price growth of other shares I hold and the market generally, from a capital growth position but paid out reasonable dividends particularly when measured against original cost.
I think valuation is presently reasonably fair;if interim results to be published shortly are satisfactory we might see a modest rise.

Hiya

BMY is a stock I have kept an interest in but never actually bought. Your post encouraged me to consider it again .The share price has been in a tight range for 4 years and gone nowhere really and the operating profit has been pretty static over that period too at around £12-13m. It would be Ok if it weren't for the fact that we have had pretty good economic conditions over the last 4 years. I believe the next 2 years will be a lot tougher and I just don't have the confidence that replacing physical publishing with on-line is going to give the share price the boost it needs. The reported return on invested capital has fallen from 9% to 7% over the last couple of years so maybe its not a great move.

Looks a decent company though just not for me at the moment.

good luck

Undervalued IMV by EssentialInvestor

  Wed, 18 Oct 2017 17:34:00 GMT
20 years of dividend increases and still about 2 X dividend cover,
with net cash on the balance sheet.

The digital resources side of BMY may prove a longer term attraction.

First post on Bloomsbury in about 18 months, anyone interested or have a view?.

I thought they looked good value at first but I expect a worse results next year after their tax rate goes up to 25% and they pay out the £2m to develop their digital channels.

Personally I think there'll be an opportunity to buy in more cheaply.
